Auditorium

The visit begins in Visionarium’s Auditorium, where a multimedia show is presented in order to create the spirit to get into the adventure throughout the 5 Odysseys in Visionarium.

Earth

In Earth’s Odyssey, visitors can discover the scientific principles that allowed Portuguese navigators to travel around the globe and bequeath fabulous discoveries to the World. On a special scenario, inspired in old maps and cartography, science models and hands-on experiments illustrate orientation and cartography, simple machines, and the principles behind fluid mechanics.

Matter

Entering Matter’s Odyssey is like beginning a journey to the smallest of things! The whole scenario of this room is as the inside of matter, where molecules and atoms are everywhere. Visitors can play interactive games about electricity, magnetism, light and the elements of the periodic table.

Universe

In this Odyssey, visitors are invited to travel through all the dimensions of Cosmos. Here, one can discover how a telescope works, learn about the science behind space exploration, play on a gravitational billiard, discover the fantastic world of the stars and planets through models of representation of the universe, or even launch a spacecraft.

Life

In Life’s Odyssey, brain and the 5 senses are the itinerary. Visitors can learn about the great diversity of living creatures, understand how the genetic code works and experiment their senses through hands-on modules and interactive experiments.

Information

At Information’s Odyssey, visitors themselves become part of the exhibition, by getting their image chatting with an animated character on a screen. The room is designed to look like a computer, with all its elements placed within the area. From the binary code to the World Wide Web, it shows us how impossible it is nowadays to live without computers or information technologies.

Experimentarium

In these two rooms, visitors can take part in live displays that demonstrate the scientific concepts presented in the exhibit rooms. Through science activities and workshops, visitors learn about different areas of science on 50 minutes or 3 hour long sessions, coordinated by scientists of Visionarium’s staff.

Temporary Exhibits

At this room visitors can discover scientific views from all over the world. From Radioactivity, to the development of drugs and the pharmaceutical industry, or even interactive modules to test the senses, this is an open space dedicated to Science and Technology.
